Obsessed with lemon grass

I have to share this obsession I acquired. I bought some lemon grass essential oil- I am growing quite the collection now - probably have 15 or so - and I am obsessed with it. They have a few uses. Mainly for smelly purposes. I mix it with water or maybe lavender or sage and create both a Febreeze type air freshner and do this for my sister and dad, and also I mixed up a little bit in a small spray bottle as a body spray. I am constantly spraying it. It smells so good and clean. You can also diffuse it with an oil diffuser. Or take a bath in it if you do that. I have heard you can also clean with it but I hacent tried that. Are you part of the essential oil craze? Whats your favorite blend or favorite oil?

I have heard of lemon grass oil, but never have sniffed one yet and don't even know that it could be mixed with other oils to make a nice scent. I will try this and look for this lemon grass oil. What other fragrant oil can be nice to mix with this, please?

I guess it depends on what you like. I lie bergamot (kind of a sweet flower like smell), clary sage (cant describe it, somewhat similar to sage) or something like lavender of you like it. There also is grapefruit which seems to mix well also with lemon grass. Or just water. Only a few drops and you can make your own febreeze sprays and body sprays for months and montha. I think I got my lemongrass on Amazon for three or four bucks too!

I have never used the oil, but lemon grass grows in my back yard and I make a very fragrant tea with it. It also has a lot of health benefits.

That is awesome! I am jealous. Do you put it in green tea?

@maezee No, it is a tea on its own. You take a few of the stalks , wash well, wrap them into a ball, place in a cup or teapot , pour boiling water and let it brew for fifteen minutes.

I'm a natural body care person, as want to use products that won't hurt my skin. I do use Amazon and Etsy to get items. It does sound easy to make some of these items myself.

You have to dilute it if you are going to use it on your skin. I have a vanilla EO somewhere. I tend to just go to etsy for smelly good things. I bought the vanilla EO to make talcum powder. I used arrowroot powder, a bit of baking soda and a few drops of the EO and it smells amazing. I'm not really a part of the EO craze but I am a "natural body care" type person. I buy my shampoo off of etsy. I just chose a new kind because the kind I had been using was great but started to burn my scalp. The one I use now smells very lovely and it makes my hair feel so soft. I use ACV at the moment to "condition" my hair, and every other day I put Almond Oil in my hair.

Nice. About the almond oil - where do you buy that? I use lavender essential oil in my hair too and it kind of conditions it. I am with you on natural body care stuff.

@maezee I just found a place on etsy to buy it from. Etsy is my go to for everything. You can get almond oil at grocery stores, atleast the majority of them. The one I work for sells it for around $10.00. You can get it on amazon too. I buy different whipped or creamed body washes from etsy too. I like more earthy scents or "exotic" type things. This is where I got my almond oil from :
