We have entered Top 3 territory in my Favorite "Party" Songs series, and the 3rd spot belongs to a fun song by a band that regularly makes my music countdowns: "The Party of the First Part," by Bauhaus.
Widely considered the band that invented goth, Bauhaus (vocalist Peter Murphy, guitarist and saxophonist Daniel Ash, bassist David J, and drummer Kevin Haskins) formed in Northampton, England, in 1978, and are best known, outside of goth circles, for their 1979 goth classic "Bela Lugosi's Dead."
Bauhaus makes it into my music countdown's so often that, instead of hammering you with the same facts, I'll give you something cool:
Over the years, members of bands such as Christian Death, Marilyn Manson, Skinny Puppy, Celtic Frost, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Dead Kennedys, Guns 'N Roses, Ministry, and Radiohead have hailed Bauhaus as an influence in some way, shape, or form. According to Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain's Bauhaus records were "all scratched up" due to being played so often.
"The Party of the First Part" is Bauhaus at their coolest. It's definitely not a goth tune. Instead, it's really neat.
The band took dialog from the 1978 animated Canadian film The Devil and Daniel Mouse (based upon The Daniel and Daniel Webster,) and sampled it over a jazzy music bed from Ash, J, and Haskins (he and David J are siblings.)
Like I said it's not a goth tune, but it's really, really cool!

It's not one of their more well known songs, like "In the Flat Fields" or "She's in Party's" are.

I guess it's a bit too cool for the likes of me.
Edit: Just saw it's not for Alfredo either!
