I just wanted to drop by and say a quick hello before heading out to church this morning. I glanced at the weather and saw it was already in the low 50s here this morning and expected to get into the 70F degree range (21+C).
The sun is shining, there's a light breeze, and all I can think is I wish we were waking up this morning at the campground. What a beautiful morning it would be to greet the day by the banks of the river.
I hope y'all have a great day, and I'll be back later.

I am sure the wife will keep you busy sweeping and cleaning as to forget wistful thoughts of camping by a river!

She's actually giving me the afternoon off to grade papers and work on my writing, since I got most of the carpet down in the sunroom yesterday. She knows with my arthritis, for every day of maximum exertion I need a day of maximum rest.

@JohnRoberts We would have had tomorrow off, but it's going to be a makeup day for the days we missed during the ice storm in early January.

@DWDavis Yeah, but it's mainly a "rest" to grade papers! Wait a minute. Don't you have tomorrow, President's Day, off?

It was a gorgeous day. We took the younger boys to the zoo. We've been to the zoo a billion times, but it was still nice to be out enjoying the fresh air. We also walked around downtown for a little bit.

@DWDavis The zoo was quite busy because it was such a nice day, and they're offering half price admission. Normally they don't get many visitors this time of year due to the cold, but it's been a warm weekend so a lot of people took advantage of the discount!

@katsmeow1213 I can imagine folks would. We were zoo members when my boys were still home. I don't think we maintain a membership now, but we still donate.

Happy Sunday DW to you and family.
I am glad the weather is mild there.
It is mild here too around the same temperature.
Blessings.

@DWDavis It is really DW, but I have a feeling we may still have a snow storm coming one of these spring days.

We had record highs over the weekend, and through this week. Into the 50's Saturday, Sunday, and Today. Tomorrow and Tuesday 60's. Wednesday through weekend - plummeting, supposed to get wintry mix this weekend. Crazy weather for February.
I'm sure you would like to wake on the banks of a river.

I woke up this morning thinking of camping too. How nice it would be but it won't be happening anytime soon around here. The temperatures are going to be wonderful for the next little while but the snow will be here for sometime yet. Have a wondeful day and enjoy the beautiful weather.

@Happy2BeMe The long range forecast is for moderate temperatures. I just hope it doesn't rain. This is a club trip and it's hard to enjoy group activities at a campground when it's raining.

Church service was nice. The priest's homily was on loving they neighbor, and thy enemies. He took time to explain the difference in how the original text meant enemy in Jesus day compared to the meaning it has in English today. I think it is important to understand, as well as we can, the context of Scripture, not just the latest English translation. Our priest is very good about that.

I would actually like to go fishing for a couple hours today, but I have not bought my licenses yet.
