Lost In France

No I’m not traveling I am at home. The reason today I am reminded of the song “Lost In France” by Bonnie Tyler is that she sings about being lost in France and being in love. Well I am not referring to love but to spring and I am lost in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia looking for signs of spring. Everywhere I look there are reminders of snow along the roadways and in the woodlands. However the weather seems to be heading toward spring. So I wander about and look for true signs of spring. I am a bit worried because it is much too early here in northern Europe to safely say that no more snow will be on the way. I remember that one year I was finally so comfortable in thinking that soon spring would be here that one night I went to bed. Sometime during the night I heard the wind howling outside but I thought so what. The following morning I woke up and the winter had returned. Everything was snowed under. So until I can see true signs of spring I am like lost and wandering about looking for crocuses coming up. Do you know this song? Are there signs of spring where you live?
