Scooter Danger Warning -
When first you get one of those electrical battery energized "mobility scooters," it is probably a good idea to review the operating manual that came with it.
Reading the manual that came with this scooter provided one real surprise.
Electrical scooters can be adversely affected by radio wave interference (radiation from radio waves generated by things such as cellular telephones and their towers, mobile radios ["walkie-talkies"], and other things of similar nature).
The scooter motor can be turned on and turned off by radio wave interferences, caused to behave erratically, even cause its brakes to fail, and, thus, become a danger to its user and to people and things in its vicinity,
The manual strongly suggested that the scooter's start key be removed from its connector socket before using tools that emit radio waves or entering areas in which such energy waves exist.
Can't you just see it right now?
"Howdy Mama. Glad you called me on my cell phone. I was just now riding the scooter over to the post office to mail my monthly bill payments. All of a sudden, the scooter turned around and headed back home again. Sure did save me some money, so thank you very much."
Well. back I go to read more of the scooter operation manual. You never know how much money the rest of that little booklet might save.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - I, too, did not know about the radio wave interference stuff prior to reading that scooter manual. I am not all that sure that I believe the manual, for it seems sort of "out of the real world" kind of stuff. Thus far, the only problem the scooter presents is that the "free wheeling" control appears to not function as it should. Tomorrow, fortunately, is yet another day. (en espanol... Manana, por la manana...) -Gus-

@pgntwo - Friend PGN - There are so many different things extant in this world about which I know nothing. I no longer worry over that fact. Instead I just enjoy the daylights out of learning of such stuff. "Interfere with metering equipment at gas station forecourt pumps..." being one of those. -Gus-
