The First Real Scooter Run -
Yesterday there was a regular "frog-strangler" of a rainstorm around the new home place. In fact, they had some tornadoes over in San Antonio (Texas) such that many homes lost rooftops and such things. Fortunately, from what we heard, no one was seriously injured over there.
Today came along, bright and sunny. A good day on which to test the usefulness of the little mobility scooter.
Along for the ride I carried my little Canon camera. After all, the trees were beginning to turn green with new foliage, the busy bugs were all being busy, and there was supposed to be a really nifty little doughnut store right at the edge of our big countryside development. I thought that the folks who had caused that doughnut shop to be located where it was located would have surely figured out how to make it easy for us newcomers with mobility scooters to access their place.
They did. And so I did, too.
Along the way to doughnut heaven I shot several pix of the budding and the already green trees. At roadside I spotted an emerging "fire ant" mound in the making. Finally, I got to that doughnut shop. There they were - doughnuts - all kinds and all colors. I bought a dozen to take back to the house for me and the other lucky ones to feast upon.

Thanks for sharing this with me @pgntwo and thanks Gus for taking me on a little virtual tour of your neighbourhood. I love also the way that you have presented your photos.
I tend to use my moby in the summer months when it hots up. At them moment we are still having cool weather high 60s low 70s which is ideal weather as far as I am concerned. But in the summer months that temperature can shoot right up the scale and I do not do well in the heat.
Before the moby I would not venture out much during the day because of the heat. But with the moby it is so easy to jump on it and scoot off and of course if there is something to photograph on the way so much the better,

@JudyEv - That scooter and I made it out on another fun excursion. Tomorrow I will be putting up the pix I made along the way -
** A winding pathway along one of the main roads in the development - probably set up for use by those who like to jog around on foot (crazy folks).
** A pano pic of the recreation center (pool, parks, etc.)
** The little mobility scooter prior to my jazzing it up with paint and a few of these and a few of those added onto it... maybe a solar electric panel canopy, etc.
Sun was nice and warm out there today. -Gus-

Hope you are enjoying your new home. It is nice that you can actually get to places near your house with your scooter.

@PatZAnthony - Hi Ms Pat - The nice thing about that exploring scooter run were the 12 doughnuts carried home with me. The two great-grandkids thought so,too. -Gus-

Gus, you had a nice adventure. I love taking my scooter around. I would have just stood and stared at all those donuts. Do you eat donuts much?
