Almost a year with my CPAP machine

I've had my CPAP machine for 11 months now and I can honestly say that it has been life changing for me. I used to have to come home from work and nap for a couple of hours every single day because I was so exhausted. I was waking like 30 times per hour according to my sleep study. Sleep apnea is a b!tch. These days I sleep straight through the night, I don't snore and keep my husband awake, and I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. I don't go through the morning like a zombie. I don't feel the pressing need to nap after work. Life is very different in a good way. I was afraid to use a CPAP machine because I thought I wouldn't be able to fall asleep or sleep comfortably. I slept straight through the first night with it. There was no need for all of the fear and worry. If you suspect you have sleep apnea, go get a sleep study done! A CPAP machine can vastly improve the quality of your sleep and make your days so much better!

I am so glad to hear that you are able to sleep well. My best friend's mom used one for many many years. I have had a few occasions where I have woken up because I've stopped breathing in my sleep. It meant for several restless nights. I don't always have this problem, and haven't had it in a few years.

I never thought much about it until I got my test results and realized that I stopped breathing so much. That was freaky.

@NJChicaa That's a very scary experience. The worst of my own experience happened several years ago now when I was still married. He wasn't very concerned for me, and that should have been a red flag for me right there. He was more annoyed that i kept waking him up.

I could not get used to my CPAP machine and finally gave up. I have now been fitted with a dental device that is supposed to stop my jaw from falling back and blocking my breathing. I have only had it a few nights and it seems great so far. A friend of mine found her CPAP machine very helpful as well.

@NJChicaa My friend does too. Listening to her describe how much better she felt with it was the reason I started the whole process of getting diagnosed. But I hated it. This device has been easy to get used to. I Think I am sleeping better. My husband says there is a lot less snoring

well they are silly. I slept just fine with mine from the very first night and have been loving it for these 11 months. Why refuse to use technology that can help you and make you feel better?
