Almost a year with my CPAP machine

I've had my CPAP machine for 11 months now and I can honestly say that it has been life changing for me. I used to have to come home from work and nap for a couple of hours every single day because I was so exhausted. I was waking like 30 times per hour according to my sleep study. Sleep apnea is a b!tch.
These days I sleep straight through the night, I don't snore and keep my husband awake, and I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. I don't go through the morning like a zombie. I don't feel the pressing need to nap after work. Life is very different in a good way.
I was afraid to use a CPAP machine because I thought I wouldn't be able to fall asleep or sleep comfortably. I slept straight through the first night with it. There was no need for all of the fear and worry.
If you suspect you have sleep apnea, go get a sleep study done! A CPAP machine can vastly improve the quality of your sleep and make your days so much better!

I am so glad to hear that you are able to sleep well. My best friend's mom used one for many many years.
I have had a few occasions where I have woken up because I've stopped breathing in my sleep. It meant for several restless nights. I don't always have this problem, and haven't had it in a few years.

@NJChicaa That's a very scary experience.
The worst of my own experience happened several years ago now when I was still married. He wasn't very concerned for me, and that should have been a red flag for me right there. He was more annoyed that i kept waking him up.

I could not get used to my CPAP machine and finally gave up. I have now been fitted with a dental device that is supposed to stop my jaw from falling back and blocking my breathing. I have only had it a few nights and it seems great so far.
A friend of mine found her CPAP machine very helpful as well.

@NJChicaa My friend does too. Listening to her describe how much better she felt with it was the reason I started the whole process of getting diagnosed. But I hated it. This device has been easy to get used to. I Think I am sleeping better. My husband says there is a lot less snoring
