A peculiar nostradamus prediction.

I feel as if I should be subtitling this discussion as : "Please someone tell me I am not crazy." Or atleast giving a disclaimer that I am quite tired and shouldn't be "driving" (mylotting) under the "influence" (sleep deprivation). I am going to give the link to what I refer to first. It is the 12th numbered passage to which I refer. "Elected Pope, as elected he will be mocked, Suddenly unexpectedly moved prompt and timid: Through too much goodness and kindness provoked to die, Fear extinguished guides the night of his death." My brain is going in circles with trying to decipher this. I keep wanting to say it means one thing, but then I can't see it meaning that at all. Let me give my most simple translation line by line. My translation shouldn't be your guide, however, as it's my own opinion. "Elected Pope, as elected he will be mocked." Trump anybody? He was mocked, but then I also think about how HE mocked. "Suddenly unexpected moved prompt and timid" I don't know what to make this. Is it saying this political figure suddenly changed his demeanor to that of being prompt and timid? Then again, prompt and timid are somewhat opposites. Prompt means to be swift or quick, on time. Timid is to be shy, abashed. "Through too much goodness and kindness, provoked to die." My own interpretation? Hahahahahahahhaahh... Trump good and kind... Haha good one. "Fear extinguished guides the night of his death" The "guides" (his allies) were "extinguished" (went away) because of his death? This probably has NOTHING to do with Trump. I'm probably romanticizing this... Nothing (that I know of) was mentioned about a Notradamus prediction during Trump's political campaign at all.. This passage just "jumped" out at me and I wanted everyone else's opinions... What say you?

So you don't care to give your own opinion on it?

You can make it say whatever you want it to say, and be about whoever you want it to be about. That's the beauty of Nostradamus!

Whatever one makes of Nostradamus, I don't think that this quatrain refers to Trump. The surrounding quatrains all seem to deal with the politics of France, Spain and Italy, so I think that it's safe to assume that an actual Pope is referred to. If you are seeking a likely match for current events, surely quatrain X-76 on that page would be a better candidate? "The great Senate will ordain the triumph For one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out: At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be Put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled." -*-*-*-*-*-*-* But don't ask me! I'm not a fan of Nostradamus, nor of Trump, for that matter! Might not this {twisted) nursery rhyme be as cogent a clue as any? "Trumpty-dumpty sat on a wall Trumpty-dumpty had a great fall All the King's horses and all the King's men Couldn't put Trumpty together again!"

I saw the quatrain you quoted here after I posted this discussion. It does seem better suited. As for Trump, I am definitely not a fan of his. Has the United Kingdom made a decision as to whether they will host trump? I know there were many protests over it, a lot of people thinking it would demean the UK and The Queen.

I think that this quatrain refers to an actual Pope. I would not use Pope and Trump in the same sentence. I enjoy documentaries about Nostradamus. He was an interesting character in history.

It might do, but then nostradamus would have had no way of knowing about America or the fact that Presidents would become a political ruler in several countries.

It seems to me as though it may have been written about Pope John Paul II, whose election astounded many, as he was the first Pope since the 1500s not to have been Bishop of Rome before becoming Pope. He helped end the Cold War, communism in eastern Europe, dictatorship in Chile and elsewhere. An assassination attempt failed to kill him, though it severely wounded him in 1981. He was one of the longest serving Popes in history.

I figured, and was right, that I was romanticizing the situation a bit. I feel sort of silly now, to be quite honest. I do remember Pope John Paul the II and all of his accomplishments.

I don't know all I can say is to keep praying for each presidents that we have. We all has our flaws. But I respect Trump as he is a pro life at least. Than those who continue to signed a law that always go against God's law and destroying the true morals of a human being.
