I had provided some landmarks for my friend - we met at a writing site - to locate my address. She was in ecstasy when she found those landmarks on Google Earth and the rest for her was easy. I was waiting for her at the gate. How do you go about helping your friend visiting you for the first time and that too from a foreign country.

We might use the same method. It can certainly make it much easier to find a place.

You have to locate some landmarks close to yours and that settles it.

Some years ago when there was no smartphone. I gave my home address to my foreign friend and he found our house by taking a taxi. I think he has many traveling experience and he has a good sense of direction.

A wonderful technology we have today, no wonder you don't need to be familiar with a place that you intend to visit.

I think that's the best way to find the right place easily.
