"The tear-drop on the cheek of time" is what Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore called it.
The Taj Mahal was built around 400 years ago and is a great tourist attraction.
It was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
If you are visiting india make this as a sight seeing option.

Is this a sort of spiritual spot to go to? Can tourist go inside too?
I attached a photo that I took ~ I believe I have visited Taj Mahal but in lego version at an amusement park here in California.

You should go to see the real Taj. Yes. You are allowed to tour the entire place. I have been there.

I loved the Taj Mahal although we only had half a day there which was not enough time for me I would have liked to stay a whole day. It is a beautiful building and compound is very large.
