What to Do to Break Routine?

Have you ever felt like you have been living the same day for a really long time kind of like Ground hog day? There is a fine line between being consistent and productive or being stuck in a routine that you just can't break! I think it is a kind of juggling act to do something that will alleviate the boredom but still stay "on track". Perhaps just a small change would help so that you don't get into the opposite habit of being lazy. Taking some small fun time for yourself might be a good way to keep a balance.

You're right - I've found myself getting lazy sometimes, especially at this time of year when I can't do any gardening.

Aww that's a bummer, one of your hobbies is seasonal.

@jhechorain Yes, my garden is quite bare at the moment, and will be until May.

Do you have a favorite flower you always plant?

I could never live a routine life because I would get too stressed out. I always make sure I do something differently each day. Some days I'll crochet, others play video games, read, just do something different.

I get stressed out too if I have too many appointments and errands to run in my routine.

That is why I decided to get myself out for an hour a day for a walk. I walk anywhere, changing the route with a stop off for coffee, by myself or with a friend. The chores and everything else will still be here when I get home and it certainly feels good after a walk!

@jhechorain Oh yes! I have alsways loved having a coffee when I am out for as long as I can remember. It is one of the few things that hasn't increased in price here for a long time too. Each place serves a different brand and the service and surroundings are different too and I try most of them. They all know me too and probably each one thinks I only go to them

Do you pick different coffee shops each time since you change route?

There are so many ways one can get away from monotony by doing the same job differently.

Yes I suppose there are ways to do it differently any way even if you do the same things.

Certainly we all need a balance in our lives. It can be hard to achieve sometimes.

@jhechorain For me it could be, because I work for myself - and I do it every day.
