What Would you Consider Your Greatest Blessing in Life?

A Gallop poll list show what people consider important in their life 1. Family _96% 2. Health _90% 3. Work _73% 4. Friends _70% 5. Money _67% 6. Religion _65% Relationship, health, wealth and the means to acquire it are aspects of life where you find people are most grateful for. With religion, one can look at it in two ways. There are those who consider their religion to be the cause of their life's blessing. Then there are those who use religion as a means of introspection, a self-contemplation of their thoughts and desire. A sort of "morality" road map. Few if any will consider misfortune as a blessing. Here is a comment I read in another forum about gratitude I want to share. "This may sound strange, but going blind has been my greatest blessing. Before I went blind I just took everything for granted. Taking away just this one sense has made me more aware of living life to the full. Take opportunities when you can, regard success and failure as two sides of the same coin, with no more power than you give them. Some blessings can seem to be bad things, to some, but going blind has given me the chance to accept life for all it offers." After reading his comment, have you REconsider what your greatest blessing in life is? Image: Pixabay

My greatest blessing is my dearest husband. I think misfortune could be a blessing, if you are able to learn a valuable lesson from it. As the saying goes, "Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted."

I would say a combination of all those factors. I do not think life would be great if I had no money and then again a supportive family is a must. What is wealth if one has no health. Imagine bickering over a job that is not satisfying and again a friendless life is not worth living. Religion did help me to know the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

@allknowing _Very insightful thought. All those mention in the list are components that make up a happy well adjusted life. Some aspects are just given more importance depending on the person's circumstance at the moment.

@Tampa_girl7 _Life is a gift but we need to appreciate it before it can be considered a blessing.
