Since I came here I have been wondering how people inserted emoticons. I would put a colon and and bracket but still it didn't work. I googled it but could only find a lengthy post which told me I would need to use the MyLot code. Code? What code?
I was about to write a post to ask but embarrassment got the better of me .. it couldn't be difficult because so many other people used them. Then my eye fell on the small blue print at the bottom of the page. I clicked on it and success!
I feel a bit silly now but I wonder if anyone else missed the obvious or have I just been having a very long blonde moment?!

I have wondered about it, too. I had seen the blue print before and have included many pictures but I thought that "MyLot Code" was a shotcut to the guidelines.

@sprite1950 There is no reason to feel silly, plenty of users ask how to add the emoticons to the discussions.

Yes they do brighten up a post and they are good to indicate humour

It took me a while before I discovered the emoticons on Mylot. I seem to go through phases. I either use none, or a lot.
