Greetings from halfway between here and there! I'm on my way to Chicago for...guess what?
As I rest from the drive and enjoy something I haven't done in a while (breathing), here's the next song on my list of favorites with "cat" or "dog" in the title.
#3: The Ballad of Cat Ballou - Nat "King" Cole and Stubby Kaye
Yes, music is subjective, but I don't want to hear any complaints about this one. One of the greatest movie themes from the 60s...and add to that, they had Nat "King" Cole in the film singing it!!!
Lee Marvin deservedly won an Oscar for his work in the film Cat Ballou (and he did work, playing two roles). And, I just can't help but think that this riotous western gave a little bit of inspiration to Mel Brooks to make Blazing Saddles. I'm sure the terrific theme song inspired his theme.
Sheesh, now I need to watch this movie again....

When Lee Marvin accepted his Oscar, he said the horse deserved part of it. A young Jane Fonda was leading lady.
