Another one bites the dust

I haven't been on here much lately for various reasons. One of the reasons is that I've started playing dumb games on FB. I know, I know, waste of time... but it is my time to waste. The second is that I've been reading, a lot lately. In fact, I've read 3 or is it 4 books since the first of the month. Honestly, it might even be 5 books. I just finished Days of Grass by Tanith Lee. I won't say this was a terrible book, it wasn't, but it wasn't all that great either. Looking at her bibliography, I don't remember ever reading any of her books, but I do have one in the bathroom, if I can ever remember to take my glasses with me when I go in there. I did rather stop playing the games to finish the book. I didn't find the end very satisfying. I hate it when you are getting near the end and you feel that the writer kind of cops out on the ending. Or maybe I'm just expecting more from a book written in 1985... I will have no trouble passing this book on to some other victim... I mean reader. Read any good books lately?

I've always been a reader, but lately I've been reading more than I had been. If I'm in a book I don't feel the pain as badly. That's also why I play games.

@mysdianait most of the time, the games are mostly helpful when there is chat running beside it, so I'm talking while playing, the interaction really helps

@ElicBxn So you get really engrosses in both reading and games if they manage to distract from your pain

I really fell bad that I haven't read any books. I love to read and haven't done so in ages.. I too get sucked into some Facebook games, it happens to the best of us.. I also "waste" a lot of my prime could be reading time creating and adding more things to Zazzle and a few other sites.. and sometimes I feel it just doesn't pay off enough... but maybe somewhere in the future it will so I keep plugging along... I really love Nora Roberts and I am so so so far behind on reading her books.. I got years of stuff to catch up on..

See... I could be doing stuff like that instead of reading and playing games, but I don't. I thought I wanted to be a librarian when I was young, but now I know that I just love books, not the people who read them...

@minx267 I probably would've liked to work in the cataloging department...

@ElicBxn Rofl. I worked in my high school Library for 4 years.. and then I worked in a book store for 3 years.. and I came to the same conclusion.

You are a glutton of books and a fast reader. I know nothing about the dumb games.

I am a pretty fast reader, but I have nothing but time most weeks.

I hate when the end of a book seems "rushed" just to publish the book "on schedule". I also play silly games on FB and I want to stop.

I don't know that this one was rushed, but after all the build up at the beginning, I felt the second half was kind of a let down, and the last 50 pages were like... "I don't know where I was going with this, so I'm just going to kill off the bad guys."

I've been reading a lot of books here lately. I'm trying to get through my long TBR list. So far a few of my favs have been November 9 by Colleen Hoover, Accidental Leigh by Melanie James, and Psychic Pets and Spirit Animals.

Most of these books I've picked up at Recycled Reads, the library book store; Savers, the Easter Seals store or Goodwill. 4 or the 5 books were all written in the 1980's, only the Mercedes Lackey book is new.
