Fulfillment

“Even paradise could become a prison if one had enough time to take notice of the walls.” ~ Morgan Rhodes Finding something to fulfill ones empty days, or so they seem, is not always easy. Even though your time is your own, so many considerations have to be taken as not to overstep the boundaries of ones life, or wander too far off as to loose direction. YOU DON'T GET BACK THAT EASILY! I have been busy with some Bowling Club Projects of late, and even though my hubby is not too happy with me getting involved, he has no idea what its like to stand back with hands folded while there is so much to be done. He forgets that I don't go to work every morning, meet with 20 Corporate men, travel to different stations to do observations and spot checks, carry out Arbitration tribunals, and the list goes on and on . . . . I have the four walls that surround me! I love people and of late it seems my "dancing card" has been left empty! Fulfillment is a word my friend from Belgium mentioned to me in a voice message this morning. She said it was important that we find something to fulfill us while waiting for the hubbys to reach Pensionable age . . . and so I keep searching. Thank you for taking the time to read, and so we all come to the close of February for the year 2017 . . . Time has flown!

Reading about "fulfillment" and "emptiness" reminds me of a quote which I rephrase and ask, "Is your cup half empty or half full"?

Goodness gracious me - welcome back - I am delighted you have popped in to write a few lines. I hope that you are well and that nothing too bothersome has kept you away for so long but rather just being busy with LIFE.

There are many things we can do while waiting. I know you will find a way to fill your days.

It seems that is all I ever do, fill my days with things and wait for the others to find time for me - its a horrid place I am at, at the moment

@inlemay Now that our kids are all independent my wife has started working but refused to work more than 2 days a week so that can still do nice things when she pleases.

It sounds like she has a master of a plan. I have no idea what I want to do next or with the time I have on hand, but I need to give it direction because wasting it, is making me sad.

I know how you feel. I was there several years ago and found a part-time job that I enjoyed for two years. But, as they say, you know when it's time to move on and I quit this month. Health issues, but mostly the awareness that life is short (especially as we get older!) and the desire to spend more time with my husband and family made the decision very easy. Enjoy this time in your life. You'll know when it's time for something else.

Welcome to March. It is good that you keep yourself active and busy with your bowls club and the involvement with the school. It is much nicer for you to keep yourself occupied rather than sit back and wait to die! Lets hope that there are many many more years to come!

ha ha ha I might have some horrid days of feeling sorry for myself in a way, but I am certainly not waiting to die - I am just waiting patiently for my NEXT MOVE!

I'm glad you found something to do in your spare time instead of being stuck in the house all day every day. What kind of projects is it that you do? I am in a bowling league so just curious what it entails. Either way glad you are doing something for yourself and your husband should understand where your coming from, be more supportive. I hope you continue to enjoy it and find some other hobbies to do as well.

I'm sorry that you are feeling like this Lany - you know your family still love and need you - that will never change even if they are far away.

My thoughts are not in good quality and I love your saying - reminded me of something my gran might have said to me.

It is good that you found something to do. I was volunteering at a non-profit thrift for a couple of years. I got so I couldn't do it anymore but still donate stuff and go on mission trips with them.

I'm sorry your dance card is empty. I'm glad you've been busy with Bowling Club to alleviate the emptiness. It's always good to keep busy.
