Do you have a specific time to buy new clothes?

I remember when I was a kid, my parents only bought new clothes at 3 times of the year 
: at the beginning, middle, and end of the year (with a few exeptions during the year). I think it made sense, after all, child doesn't need so much clothing.
As an adult, the story is a bit different... Although I'm not addicted to buying clothes (I prefer spending money on food), I do not have a specific season to buy new clothes. I buy whenever I need it or when I really like some.

Yes, you are very right that in our case also, our parents used to buy us clothes on select few occasions and as per need basis. As an adult we are free to buy clothes, as and when we feel like. However, I prefer to buy clothes, when I feel that the existing stock has become old and it needed to be replaced with some new clothes.

When my kids were little I was always shopping for sales. I would find amazing deals and buy the clothes and put them in the back of their closets for them to grow into. So then when they needed them they were stocked up and it saved me a ton of money. Now I hate shopping soon I tend to just go get them what they need when they need it.

I prefer to buy on seasonal sales but I also do some impulse buys sometimes. There are always unpredicted needs too, so if something comes up I will buy whatever I need. This year I had two winter weddings and nothing to wear because they are usually planned for the summer. So I had to find an outfit for the events that wasn't planned.

I buy clothes when absolutely need them. There are times in the year that during a period of time I do not buy clothes. Sorry, I do not have the energy right now to explain.
