How big!

How big! About a year ago, when I was in town I saw them and said to myself that I would have to buy them although I had no idea what I would be make using them. Even since I bought them sitting with the rest of my knitting needles. A few times, I picked them up, try an odd row, and then deciding no, that they are too big, so put them back with the rest of my needles. 20mm not sure of the US size but whatever the size is they are huge. I now have found a project and finished one off earlier his week, more in that later. If you knit, have you ever knitted with a large size needle before?

As an avid yarn nut, they would be used for the giant blankets

@reskyyandi They are 20mm in diameter and they aren't the largest you can get.

How awkward was it for you to use the larger gauge needles for the first time? I have seen some much bigger than those. A lot of people seem to make their own, especially if they want to do the jumbo blankets which seem to be the craze now. What weight yarn would you use for these (20mm) needles?

It was very awkward, didn't feel right. I made a baby blanket with fine yarn to make it kinda lacy looking.

I made a baby blanket/wrap in some beautiful Alpaca and Mulberry Silk yarn, it's sooooo soft and light.

They sell a jumbo crochet hook too. I saw a woman using one the other day making sleeping mats for homeless people out of plastic grocery bags.

They do look rather thick and ungainly, but at least they are a matching pair.

These two needles are so big. If you don't tell me, I almost thought they were the drumsticks

What's the usual size of needle you use? What articles can be made with huge needles?

I normally use anything from 3.25-6.5mm needles, depending on what I'm knitting.

They are HUGE!! I don't know how to knit... but whatever pattern you find, I'm sure that the item will be worked up in oh... around an hour lol. Would love to reach through the computer screen to feel what Alpaca Silk feels like!! ;)
