Okay I just had to share some great deals I got at Aldi today. I switch off between Aldi and Cub Foods depending on when I work. I definitely prefer Aldi for produce although sometimes they dont have everything I need. Since I am working 12 hours today (banking a little overtime!) And tomorrow and I had virtually no groceries.... I ran there this morning. Got everything pictured plus some other items for a grand total of $33. I was surprised at these deals - -A 3lb bag of oranges : $1.79 (!!) -a bag of 5 roma tomatoes $.99 cents (!!) And some really great other deals. Their produce also seems to last longer than what I buy from Cub Foods. Do you have an Aldi near you? Where do you grocery shop? Have you gotten any good deals lately?

Aldi has good prices compared to a lot of other stores, but I don't like shopping there. I'm a couponer, and they don't take coupons (they usually don't have name brand things anyway), and most of the rebate apps don't accept receipts from Aldi either. I also don't like the fact that I have to bag or box my purchases. It is good for some things like produce, that don't usually have coupons anyway. Practically all of my shopping I do at Walmart and Price Chopper (since Price Chopper doubles coupons under $1, and usually has good sales.)

Nice. I can see why you would say that. I have never really been a couponer so it hasnt effected me like that. I agree about the bags. You are kind of SOL if you dont have a quarter for a cart or your own tote bag to bring.

There are many stores for good prices. We have a ShopRite right around the corner from us and it is always crowded. But they have some good prices. Although not everything there is a bargain. It seems the ShopRite by me has no real competition. So it is what it is. I have been toying with the idea of shopping online from Fresh Direct or Amazon Fresh. At some point I will do that.

@maezee I have a neighbor that used it a few times. She said it was real good. And she also used Fresh Direct. And she also said the meat from both sites was very good. So I am thinking about using them myself.

And normally it is here too. I usually pay $3.99 or sometimes $4.99 for a same size bag of oranges. I hope that doesnt mean these ones are super past their prime !!

It pays to shop at Aldi. Right now I rarely shop at all but once my daughter moves out I will have to figure out how to find the money for groceries again.

I stopped shopping at Aldi's years ago as they would only have one cashier and we're so slow. I also didn't think it was much lower cost then going to Walmart. My boyfriend told me he went there a lot and saves a lot of money so I started going and was beyond shocked at how cheap the prices are. I have started shopping there each week now.

@maezee Since I have started going again they usually have two cashiers and they are pretty fast.

That is frustrating. Ours seems pretty well staffed but I also avoid Saturday / Sunday morning rushes. Walmart is pretty cheap too.

Yes I do. It's about 15 minutes away. I'll be going there on Sunday after church for my big grocery list, before I go to Giant Eagle. I go there at least once a month. Nice deals! I also shop at Giant Eagle, Acme Fresh Markets, and I did Marc's last fall. Pretty good deals too.

There is an Aldi about fifteen minutes from my house. I have been there a few times, and I like it. The prices are excellent, especially if you're on a budget. I work as an associate at Shop Rite. So, I shop there for my groceries the most. Sometimes, I also shop at Costco and Walmart for groceries. I don't really use coupons because I don't buy a lot of items at once.Plus, most coupons I find are not for items that I usually buy. I see customers use so many coupons at Shop Rite. It makes me want to start using coupons. I'm on a budget, so using coupons would be good.

I agree with yiu about the coupons. They seem to usually be for brand name things and with the coupon they are still more expensive than others!
