Do you usually look at the expiration dates of promotional products?

Everyone is looking for discounts when buying something, and they are extremely common when it comes to food. In many situations the discounts are really great and they easly seduce the consumers. But do you pay attention to the expiration date of the products? Many times we want to save on something (and there's nothing wrong with that, after all, it's always good to have some money left) but we end up paying more for others.

I gound that our 99 cent store was selling expired foods and a box of donuts I bought were moldy.I took it back and got my money back, I stopped buying foods from them did like their prices on fresh produce as I could see for myself if the produce was good or spoiled.

I always look now after buying some things at a supermarket last year and discovering they were six months out of date. I didn't even think that was legal!

I always look for expiration dates especially meat products etc. I hate buying things that our close to expiring. I have done it before and regretted it as it went to waste.

With food, I do even though the expiry date probably will still give you some wiggle room. Darling daughter refuses to give up chocolate (she's a slow eater) and she's still walking.

I look sometimes but usually I can use it up pretty fast so expiration dates are not a big problem.

Good idea. You never know. Doing this can avoid food poisoning.

I check expiration dates of all food that I buy because items on the shelf can be 2 days away only.

I used to work for a grocery store and it was explained to me that expiration dates are mainly for inventory control. The product tastes and looks best before a certain date but you can eat them for years after they expire. I know, I've done it! Of course, with dairy and other perishable products you should not buy past the expiration date although they are usually good for about a week with proper storage. I love a good deal and if there is nothing wrong with the can (bulging, badly dented, etc.) I'll buy it if it's cheap enough.

I do my shopping when the fridge is empty and I do not look really. They do a discount for goods not far from the expiration date and I often buy them ; I know that everything will be eaten in less than a week, and that there is always a few days left after the date where they cannot be sold anymore to eat these products.

I must confess that I don't.
