MINE - NOT THINE.

Are you a possessive person ? and what are the things you absolutely would not share?. I believe that what is mine is mine - and there are some things which I will not share - like my toothbrush, a boyfriend or a husband.
I remember many years ago, my first boyfriend gave my sister a birthday gift , and that made me very upset. Not that I was jealous, but I simply felt that in the house which I shared with two sisters, I should be the only recipient of a gift from my friend -- added to the fact that he had forgotten my birthday three months previously.
Some people can be extremely possessive, which can lead to trouble. I consider myself mildly possessive. So , are you extreme , moderate , mild or not at all? And what are the things that you absolutely would not share.

I'm not possessive at all and I'll lend or give someone whatever. However, like you, I'll share toothpaste but not toothbrush. No sharing of girlfriend of wife either. There are a few things that one cannot share.

@Kandae11 I would not like to use a toothbrush that has been used by someone else, even my wife. If that makes me finicky, so be it. When I was married, we each had our own bank accounts and I would make my wife a check every month for expenditures. What do you think of that?

@1hopefulman Some people may call it being finicky but I don't think it is - about the bank accounts - if both of you work and your salary is much larger than hers, I see nothing wrong with you footing the household expenditures, but if the salaries are about the same, I think the expenses should be shared.

I am possessive yes, I don't mind giving my stuff to other people but I can be very annoyed when someone takes something of value without my permission. A valuable thing might simply be a mug that my boyriend gave me on our first trip. It is something that has value only to me but I still don't like someone else using it.

I guess I am different. I cannot even think about what I would be extremely possessive about. Having no real friends here except for my hubby there is no one that could threaten me in any way.

I tend to be easygoing except sharing my wife. I can be a little possessive and protective of her.

I am not very possessive but still I don't like sharing certain things e.g. the pens I use for my official work.

@Kandae11 That is one of the major problems that borrower forgets to return it, when if you warn of request him to return.

At the moment I would not want to share those chocolates which I have just bought (lol) Seriously I too would feel the same way you do.

i'm practical. i will share if it's needed. what's important to me, though, is asking permission first and letting me know immediately if something happened to it.

In general, I'm not a really possessive person. But sometimes I'm possessive of my time, I don't want to waste it on people who have taken advantage of me in the past.

i have that emotion sometimes, but then i try not to stress myself when i see somebody gaining more attention than me.
my brother from UK intentionally left behind his iPad to my sister (but he asked both of us sisters who wanted the iPad- my sister said she wanted it).
then when my brother said he will leave his other SamSung phone, my sister said i can have the iPad and she can take the phone, saying i need it more. my brother however said he will leave the phone to me.
i believe my sister was envious because she wanted more phones than me.

- I won't mind lending a pen - providing the borrower remembers to return it.
