It is seventeen years and everything is so fresh in my memory

It was seventeen years ago that I went on that US tour and everything is so fresh in my memory. We went by Lufthansa with a stop over at Frankfurt. We had to wait there for hours till we got a connecting flight. We landed at New York in the morning. We waited at the airport yet again until we were put in a bus and taken to a restaurant - my very first experience. I could not but notice those huge paper glasses for tea, coffee or coke. It was too much as we in India are not used to gulping down so much at one go. Then I noticed those giant pizzas that were being ordered by some people there just to be wasted and put in the bin. It was a 55 days stay in the US which included a few days on my own visiting friends and family. I think this experience and my other tours deserve to be put in a blog. How much have you travelled?

i'm quite confused by the flight. was it india to frankfurt to us? years ago, some of our officemates went to the us for training. they were all male, yet even they couldn't handle the huge serving portions.

yup everything is bigger in the US lol. That was a long vacation you took. The flights and the waiting for flights must have been awful.

I got in and out of 21 flights but checking in and out was helped by our guide. Even our luggage was cleared for us and placed at our hotel room door. Package tours have this advantage. There was not much of waiting though. The whole experience was memorable

@allknowing ~We do love our big glasses of beverages and free refills. One convenience store, 7Eleven, even callls their large drink a "Big Gulp!" Yes, American's can be very wasteful.

17 years ago it is the year of 2000. Did you go there to count down for the millennium? That's so cool that you stayed there for such a long time. Usually I travel for about a week since I have to go to work.

I think the first trip overseas is a bit of an eye-opener. After the first one, you are not so surprised when you are surprised - if you know what I mean. You almost expect to be surprised by some things.

I have travelled before. Plenty of Indian tours and then Europe but US did have surprises of the kind I talked about here (lol)

You must have made lots of lovely memories during that trip which is why you still vividly remember it up to this day! I wish to travel but certain obligations are hampering my plans. Hopefully, I get to travel this summer.
