Can anyone get a skirt to fit them any more? Waist on the Skirt too big too tight or maybe the two things at once neither here nor there. I mean a nice skirt that is not too long not way too short as we have had children and our waistline is not what it was. Although the so called Fashion Designers seem to think that we are all one fit or size. I mean I have seen a lot of nice tops and all that but the Skirts are just too way out. Some of them are really awful quality. I could almost begin to despair. Men because they wear trousers they do not even seem to think about it. But a Girl likes to look nice whatever her age. Please Mr. Fashion Designer please think about us Ladies just for once I mean its not as if you have to have a Degree or a Master to get the whole idea of what we want is it? Maybe I should ask Father Christmas or maybe the Three Kings to bring me a nice decent skirt and not something that even my super modern Nan would not have even dreamed of putting on.

Alas that is the way it is. Skirts can cost you a lot of money so you have to be there in person to try them on. However if you find a good place online that is really something else.

@amitkokiladitya I don´t really like it that much either you cannot talk to the person and feel that they are human. Its the human touch that is a must.

I like Jeans and Slacks but for me they are not for wearing to go out in say if you want to go some place special. I feel more freedom in a skirt than the other way round.

@JudyEv I am always much more comfortable in a Skirt or a Dress. Dresses here are either too long or too short or way too tight. Anyone who has been Shopping here can vouch for that.

@lovinangelsinstead21 If you are going somewhere really special then a skirt is nice.

I think you can go for sewing it by giving your apt measurement. The skirts won't get fit otherwise. The waistline is so important. It is easy to make a new skirt according to your measurement than re-making an already stitched skirt.

I cannot make my own clothes. Although its something that I wanted to learn at School. If they saw that you did not have that gift of being able to sew good you got left behind. So that happened to me and the rest of the Class got left behind. Only the ones that had more talent were concentrated on so the rest of us did not learn much at all.

If I could have sewn like the girls that took the best material to School and all the best tools like good needles I would have probably learned. However we had a Teacher that only favoured a few.

wonder how i missed this discussion so long? i only had a couple of skirts i could wear. loose band belly and just right length. i and most only wear pants it seems these days. they are hard to fit also. have to get loose stretchy ones that are right length. Faded Glory brand and Dannon makes the good ones

Not heard of those or seen them around here Bunnybon otherwise I would be there to see what they are like. Buying them online is dodgy here as you have to have a Credit Card and I threw mine away as I could hardly ever use it.

Since I started being employed in my present employer, I become a jeans user since everyone at the office wears it. To make it corporate looking , I use nice blouses and stilletos for my footwear. Though, whenever we have uniforms, I always choose the skirt and blouse version and use high heels and light stockings. I get to buy a dress only during our daughter's graduation from Medicine last May. It is just in my closet since then.

I was just looking at a Catalogue online and there is a nice Skirt there with a drawstring through the waist as I dislike and really dislike those elastic bands in the waist as they cut into you. The biggest problem is that they make it for a slender woman which I am not but I am just the right weight. I don´t like jeans just lately as the waist is way too low and I don´t feel comfortable in them. I wish they would consider women who have had more than one child as we never get our figure back the same as before. Have looked at all the other Skirts and they are way too short or way too long. Take this with a sense of humour I really have to. I like dresses too but there are not many good quality ones in this Catalogue.

@SIMPLYD Where I live its really hard to find a Seamstress. They called them Modistas here. Say that they called them because I don´t think they even exist any more.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Maybe you should just have a skirt customized for you instead then.

I can sew yes but not clothes. I can do hems and blanketstitch and repair things but not make my own clothes. His Auntie taught me how to hem and sew things when I came to live here.

@Fleura No out of the question as I have no talent for making clothes I cannot cut out anything straight. Some have got the talent and some have not. I would sew a ready cut out one though but I don´t think they even exist anymore.

I haven't worn a skirt in years. I don't go anywhere to dress up and if I do I just wear a nice pair of jeans and a top. That is pretty much what most people do around here.

I feel very lucky that I design and make all my clothes.. otherwise, nothing in the shops would really fit me the way I want my clothes fitted ..

I like classic styles only and they are very hard to find these days unless we pay a lot more money.

I don´t follow fashion styles here at at all it would be really silly as there sizes are dedicated to younger women and the styles too. I don´t want old fashioned Clothes either because there are those around and not for me at all.
