I love to swim very much. I am for the people, no matter how old they are, learn to swim. Water is a great happiness, swimming helps to relax the whole body, stretch out numb parts of the body. Also, if you swim, you are decreasing the chances of drowning. It's never too late to start learning.

@lillywriter Oh that's great. I have been snorkeling in my country only. I would definitely like to explore other seas

@enlightenedpsych2 Which lake did the Edmund Fitzgerald go down in. Was it Erie? I used to swim in Lake Michigan all the time.

I was in the Navy and had to learn how to swim. It is good therapy.

I don't know how to swim, and due to an accident in the ocean when I was very young, I have a fear of being splashed in the face. So it's amazing to me that I've joined a water aerobics class and I love it! We're in shallow water, although since I'm short, quite a bit of me is underwater while exercising!

I love swimming during my younger years although I don't find much time to do it these days due to my other commitments. How I wish do have more time dipping myself into water again.
