I just took part in the Relay for Cancer event in our country. The newspapers reported that more than 7000 took part in this event. We had to pay for it, though we got a goodie bag provided by the sponsors. This whole event started in the late afternoon and continued through the night till nearly noon the next day. The idea is that fighting cancer is an activity that is nearly life-long, so the participants get to appreciate the struggle that cancer patients went through.

I think the event is important for us to appreciate the struggle people do go through daily. One of my friends recently lost the battle and passed away. Her last years were really hard and tough for us watching her, as she was tired all the time.
