Have You Ever Visted The London Bridge?

Before 1967, a person would have visited the London Bridge, which spanned the Thames River, in London England. But, after that, the London Bridge was torn down and transported, piece by piece, to Lake Havasu City in Arizona, USA.
The bridge was then rebuilt with modifications and ready for use in 1971.

I would like to see it although I know it's been modified and reinforced and it doesn't look like the OLD London Bridge.

That is very interesting. I have not seen it myself but my hubby has been there on a business trip.

I have not seen it either, but it's fascinating that it was transported to Lake Havasu and restructured. We have an English Tudor Mansion here in Richmond, called Agecroft, that was torn down in England and transported piece by piece and rebuilt here on the James River. A beautiful place that I would like to revisit. It's been several years since I've been there.
For a while I worked as a Private Duty Nurse and I actually took care of Mrs. Morton who was the owner of Agecroft, along with her husband. She has since passed away.

That must have been nice. Now the Tower Bridge is the bridge most visited in London I guess.

Yes, I guess almost everyone has heard that little rhyming song about London Bridge. I, for one, was surprised when I heard that someone had purchased the London Bridge and that they were tearing it down and bringing it to the USA. The photo I posted is what it looks like today on Lake Havasu. Pretty nice, I think.

I guess there are several bridges in London that cross the Thames River. But, the OLD London Bridge was torn down and moved to the USA.

Probably so, if you lived in London before 1967. There are several bridges here in the Richmond, VA area that span the James River and I don't know the names of all the bridges but I think I have been over all of them at some point in time.

The Tower Bridge is the most popular bridge in London now, I think. Although there are several other bridges that cross the Thames River at different places.
