Parents have an important roles in our lives. The values they gave to us since we were young kids become our foundation as we grow up. It is for that reason that couples shouldn't get married unless they are ready for handling the big responsibility for being a parent.
I am who I am now because of my parents. They taught me about the importance of education and hard work. What traits or values did you get from your parents?

@annierose I am now a senior. I have had good innings with a multi national where I was in the middle management cadre. I gave up early and started my own landscaped garden designing business

You are right that parents have an import role in our lives. The words and deeds of our parents greatly influence our thinking and behavior. In most cases, they are our models. I have been doing things serious to the best possible, which my father always told us. And my mum was always thinking of others before herself, thus i take it also as natural,

@prinzcy Knowing how to respect anyone no matter what is their age, position, race, etc. is a trait not all people cannot carry out. I am glad that your parents taught you about that very important characteristic.

My parents had a difficult married life and I was never close to them.. so I learned great lessons from the mistakes they made .. I made a conscious decision not to follow their footsteps .. But I am indebted to them.. very grateful that they were the vessels that transported me into this life ..

@epiffanie Based on your comment, I can tell that sometimes, love is sweeter the second time around.

@annierose YEs I got married but divorced after 9 and a half years because I was not prepared to be in a very unhappy marriage like my parents had .. But after ten years of being single again, I met my gentle husband now .. and I am happily and peacefully married now for 16 years ..
