I Saw Something Really Strange The Other Day

It looked like a terradactyl. A huge bird flying directly away from my bedroom window. All I saw of it was it's gynormous wing span and the skinny body. Around here we have mostly wrens, doves, crows and seagulls. I have seen huge Canadian geese fly over but now now. It must have been a seagull but it was much bigger. Weird.

That sounds scary but amazing haha! I remember seeing a big kind of bird and it landed in water and it was a pelican. It was amazing!

We don't have many big birds in this part of town, but this one was enormous.

@celticeagle It was when I was in Wyoming which I guess is a center state for most birds when they fly back up north

@DesirousDreamer .....Wyoming is an odd state for animals and birds and I guess that is why.

Is it too far inland for it to be an Albatross?
We have had the odd one over here as the Sea is 90 kms a bit further up.
But even so the odd one does get seen flying over.
Or could it have been a Stork.
I am inclined to think it could be a Stork but the other has a huge Wingspan I believe.

Yes. I live in idaho. We have eagles, falcons and such but no sea birds. I wonder if it was a Canadian goose. I just heard one and it is March. We have more mountainous type birds. Not sea types.

@lovinangelsinstead21 .....We don't have any such birds here either. We have birds you would think of in the mountains. Eagles, peregrine falcons. We have the World Birds of Prey Center here.

To take pictures of birds in flight is not easy and you have done a great job of it. It looks like a crane to me.

This isn't the bird I saw. This is one I found online when I was writing about this type of bird. Whoever took it did do a good job.

Here, birds that once were only at the coast can be seen in local parking lots. No clue what half of the birds are that we see.

We get a lot of seagulls which I think is weird but maybe because of the garbage sites. But those aren't even close to wear I live.

@celticeagle We see those also. The world has changed! These might be coming inland because food is scarce at sea?
