Mylot, Is It Real?

I signed up on mylot last night, and typed what I consider (obviously) to be a very interesting piece. It took over an hour, and I put a lot of thought into. When I was finished I pressed the 'Start Discussion' button, but nothing happened. A tiny little symbol started to twirl, but even half an hour later it still hadn't done anything else. If this blurb is successfully posted, let me know what your experience has been on mylot! And big thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to share their thoughts.

Welcome aboard! 
MyLot is around for over 10 years and pays regularly all of the users who reach minimum. Many of us are here since almost the beginning so, I guess, that should make it 'real' enough.
However it is NOT a get-rich-quick site and you do NOT get paid-to-post here (so maybe you should read everthing in the 'Help' secion under your avatar so that you don't spend so much time on making an 'interesting piece'.
Have fun and make friends and the rest will follow.

Yes @sjvg1976 is correct. You earn when others reply to your posts, responses and comments but if you don't acknowledge them then they will not earn - and you will probably not see them again on your future posts.

You could do well here with your sincere effort to post interesting discussions that could trigger responses and those responses will pay you but not what you post..
Something may have gone amiss somewhere as this post of yours as you can is here alive and kicking.
I am eager to see your post over which you spent so much time. Do try again and welcome to myLot.

Welcome to myLot. The key to "success" here is participation meaning that comments and responses are basically more important than posts though of course there have to be posts to comment and respond to.

Done and done. .it was a piece about online broadcasting and teenagers, the lines that have been crossed, and the dangers and risks.
You have come to the real site which is loyal and has been paying to its user since last 10 years or so. I have here on mylot since last 7 years and have been paid many times. Hope you enjoy your time here.

I think it happened to me because I had it open for too long before posting. Someone suggested that I type in another program and then copy/paste when I'm ready, and that's worked every time.
