Double - Good - I am one of those people whose body weight is evidently "up for grabs," that is, I eat enough for several people, but I am as skinny as one of the little boards on a picket fence. I jumped onto a weighing scale the other day and it told me that I had donated about 25 pounds of "me" to who-knows-what. Off to the market we went, this time to buy those "energy drinks" that our good doctor had told me to put into my belly every day - like two or three of them every day. "Best you do that or even a slight puff of breeze will blow you clean away," Doc said. Well, I did not particularly like the taste of the stuff - not even the chocolate-flavored kind. So I decided to try it after heating in the microwave oven for a minute or two. Wow. It seemed as though the flavor arrived in the microwave - tons of flavor. Made me want some more of the stuff. Right now I am sitting here, beating on the computer keyboard, wanting some energy drink. That last little container of chocolate-flavored weight gainer stuff must be working on me with lots of energy - way more than was there when I tried to swallow the drink when it was cold. Three of those every day will be a pleasure. If I am not careful, those three containers will become four containers, and my skinny belly will turn into a real fatso kind of middle. If it tastes so good, how come it has such a dull brown color to it? Seems to be that logic and fact are not always found in the same container. @syeow1 - When you lose significant weight, you generally try to get it back. -Gus-

@Freelanzer - According to the label on the container, this stuff does not contain caffeine as one of its particular ingredients. It does contain cocoa powder as flavoring for the chocolate-flavored variety and, as I recall, cocoa contains something akin to caffeine, but how much it contains I do not know. The drink is put forth as a food to assist in muscle-building, not as an energy drink. I did write that it seemed to pick up lots of energy after I stuck it into the microwave for a minute or two, but that was really considering its increase in flavor. I apologize for misleading you that way. I am already "hyper" enough from the coffee and the tea that I swallow. -Gus-

Nice. Glad that you are enjoying it. Some protein mixes I have had in the past (especially vanilla or strawberry flavored ones) have been chalky and gross. Targets generic brand chocolate protein mix is decent too. Glad you found a good one!

@maezee - I had to get some vanilla-flavored shake when there was no chololate kind on the shelf. Same as you, I did not think well of it. Got mine at one of the Sam's Wholesale places -Gus-.

We make our own goodies b/c we want to control the ingredients. If ours is a dull brown color, someone might have added too many flax seeds!

@PatZAnthony - Ms Pat - I was attempting to put on a bit more weight, but the flat taste of the stuff put me off such that I tried to make it more palatable. The microwaving helped a lot. -Gus-

It's good that you are enjoying the drinks so much. Usually something that is good for you tastes pretty bad.

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - I wish that I were sure of the health benefits of this stuff- or even if there are any health benefits. At least I figured out how to make it taste better. -Gus-

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - I do not know about the "healthy" aspect of chocolate milkshake with double malt, but my guess would be that the stuff will taste really good. Toss some banana into it, and perhaps some peanut butter or peanut powder, and you would really have something mighty appealing to many of us - especially to me. -Gus-

@Ceerios I read somewhere that one of the most calorie-laden foods was a chocolate milkshake with double malt. That should at least be healthy - if not for most of us!
