I'm tryin to watch that movie Two Weeks Notice, not that it's all that interesting yet, the beginning of it is boring but I'm only 5 minutes in so I'll give it a few more minutes to get interesting, I know Sandra Bullock can be hilarious.
Anyway, she's single in this movie and her apartment is spotless, something I have lots of trouble tryin to do, I'm messy but I hate admitting it
Why is it that most of the movies we see will portray single women as very clean with all kinds of furniture, cheeeze, I wish I had a couch but I opted for a bed instead and a PC, am I the only messy single woman in the world?
Are you really really clean like in the movies?
Well, I guess I just don't measure up.........

I cannot imagine anybody being as well organised as the characters on television or film. They show the homes of single men who spend day and night investigating Crimea, but there home is excellent. Nobody can work every available minute and clean the house daily.

@rebelann We all know that a home is mildly untidy unless you spend several hours per day tidying it or simply do not use it, so I cannot understand why they insist on showing such pristine homes. The idea should be to be more realistic.

I love Sandra Bullock but I really didn't like that movie. Nothing about it spoke to me. As far as movies, I try not to judge myself by any of that. It's all make believe. You know that in real life these people have maids to clean up after them and even in the movie, Sandra Bullock didn't clean anything on the set. No one is perfect. When I had my house, I found it almost impossible to keep it as clean as I should have. It was just too big for me. Now that I'm in my tiny apartment, it's gotten a lot easier, but I have to keep up with the cleaning every day. Don't be too harsh on yourself. You're human.

I agree with you, the movie wasn't that great and a lot of what Sandra did on it was almost exactly the same as she's done in other movies she's in. I think she's had some really funny parts but not in this movie.
You are right, it is all make believe but still I have to laugh when I watch all these movies and everything in them depicts people as spotless. Like you said, we're human and humans aren't spotless ...... especially when they have dogs or cats and your house has carpet, talk about a hairy mess.
Speaking of hairy mess, it's spring time here and that hairy mess just doubled

A messy house depicts that it is lived in. So relax.

@DianneN yeah, but sometimes I wish I knew people who didn't have problems with cats, oh well, at least I can visit them and of course they have poodles so they don't worry about the shedding ..... I think I visit friends about 1ce a year.1 person likes this

Well that does make me feel better. All those characters I see in the movies make it seem as if everyone is an immaculate housekeeper

My friend is not the cleanest person in the world, but his wife is worse. I knew a few messy single girls, but who am I to talk, pretty messy myself.

I have to wonder if being messy could simply be a part of living, I just don't see spending all my spare time cleaning

We are neat. We try to keep it as clean as it was when we moved in. We have company a lot, the in laws and they own the house so we don't want to upset her like we don't respect her house. I can't clean but my care worker cleans and vacuums twice a week.

Yeah, when renting it's totally different, you have to keep the landlords happy.

It's not really all that good. Usually I can remember what Sandra was like in her movies but I can't even remember much about it and it's only been a week or so since I saw it.
Thank you, Spunky was such a sweetie.
