A Rare Afternoon Free

I was supposed to work the gate at our baseball and softball games this afternoon. Due to the cold and high winds, the games have been postponed. Since I had already cleared my calendar to accommodate being at the games, I find myself with a rare free afternoon. My missus had already arranged for our dog sitter to look in on the pups around 4pm. She didn't want to cancel on her. Thus, I was told not to go home until well after 4pm. It was my missus who suggested I go to Starbucks for a decaf and a croissant. Have you ever experienced a sudden cancellation of a task you were not particularly looking forward to?

@DWDavis HaHa, hey you could have got a caffeine high and got cut off by the barista. Could you imagine, now that would be embarrassing. I got 86'd from Starbucks.

Yeah, today! I had to take the day off work to wait around for the guy to come fix my furnace. He actually showed up early, and I had the rest of the day to myself! It was quite nice. I did a few chores and errands.. and shoveled some more, so that we could reach our mailbox. Caught up on laundry and did a few dishes. Even treated myself to lunch at a place that opened a few months ago that I had yet to try.

Sometimes I worry and worry about something that is coming up then something happens to scotch whatever it was and I've wasted all the worry. I know you weren't worried about being on the gate but your story reminded me of such times.

Yes and when it happens, i feel very boring... Once I'm dressed up n the plan is cancelled then I'll definitely go somewhere, whether it's going to market...
