The ways of salmon amazes me. They swim upstream against the strong current, choosing to go against the flow and take on adversity. They don't just perservere through the adversity; the embrace it. As believers, we're to be like the salmon of this world. The wayt to deal with adversity isn't just to deal with it, but do it as the salmon does, taking life head on. It chooses to go against the flow and against the current. As a believer, you're not supposed to go through life on te defensive, surprised by problems, trying to get away from the fight. Instread, take on sin, flesh, and the ways of this world head on. Take the kingdom of the enemy head on. Choose to fight the good fight, a good challenge, and a good conquest. Go for it! That's what David did. Thats what Paul did. That's what the first believers did. Like like that, and you'll be blessed and victorious. You'll go uphill or upstream, just like the salmon. "Commit today to go against the way of the world, the way of the flesh, and the way of the problem."

Sometimes the fight is so grueling. I have felt like I couldn't go on, and I just wanted a two year break from life. But you're right, and I can't ignore that. I can't do anything alone, but with Him anything can be accomplished according to His will.

Salmon are a strange fish. I've seen documentaries about salmon and they show you the life cycles and what not. At the end when the salmon make it to the top of the stream where they were born and they look so different all red and deformed as they are dying. Kind of sad. Not a big fan of eating salmon.
