How can we "see" God?

Is it really possible to "see" God? Jesus said in Matthew 5:8 (Good News Translation) "Happy are the pure in heart; they will see God!"
What is the condition we must meet to "see" God?
What does it mean to be "pure in heart"?
Will we literally or physically "see" God?
What are your thoughts?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pure of heart = We must be clean speech and conduct but also be clean on the inside, having good thoughts, motives, and desires
See = seeing does not always mean literally seeing as God is a spirit like the wind or the air but can mean having some manifestation of God's blessing in our lives

Ii think it is when there is no go between you and God. I do not have a prop called religion. I deal with God directly.

How do you view Jesus? Isn't he a go-between?
1 Timothy 2:5 King James Version (KJV) 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
John 14:6 King James Version (KJV) 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I think your explanation is pretty good! A person can at times display a certain outward appearance but in their hearts may feel quite different. God wants us to show love out of a clean or pure heart. He does not want us to be hypocrites. He wants our motives as well as our actions to be pure. It is these kind of people that will "see" him.

@Beatburn Purity of heart does not mean perfection. We all struggle. We all fail at times. If we feel we need to do better then we can pray to God for help. God will help us. God does not judge the same way people do. God does not just judge what we are but also what we could be under different circumstances. He is fair!

It would be better if we really see God so we know if he's really real or not. It's hard to pray sometimes when you don't see the one you talk to

But, hasn't he had a book written that covers all the information we need to know?

Well, you are talking to me but you cannot literally see me. How do you know I exist?

@1hopefulman I know someone exist because they reply using text but with God he won't even text a message or hear his voice

You are right, we cannot see God literally with our physical eyes but we can see God's blessings in our lives that show that he is near us and loves us. All those that do not believe God exists have "seen" nothing in the universe that proves God's existence.

I think the pure of heart is a child.
But yes I do think when I die and I am called for judgement I will see my heavenly Father , God.

Yes, a young child is usually pure in heart as they have no impure desires. Yes, if one goes to heaven then they will see more of God then those who live forever on earth. We remember that the Bible says of Moses that he "saw" God. (See Hebrews 11:27)

When we learn to know God, we can clean our life, and he will make many things happen in our life, blessings that are seen literally, even if we can not see God - as he cannot be seen with our human eyes.

Yes, and we need to also be pure in our hearts, we need to have clean desires, thoughts, intentions, motives and love for God and neighbour.

I think we see God in the goodness of people and in the wonder of nature.

In what you describe, is it God that we see or some of his qualities?

Nice to see that you also "see" God in your trials and sufferings as some lose faith when those thing happen. Job continued with God and got double blessings.

Yes, living a good life is a blessing now and will be rewarded in the future by God. Whether God brings me to heaven in the future or wants me to live on earth forever is in his hands and I'm happy with either.
Matthew 5:5 King James Version (KJV) 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:10 King James Version (KJV) 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

That's for sure! But do we also "see" God when bad things happen?
Job 2:9-10 King James Version (KJV) 9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
Job 42:5 King James Version (KJV) 5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
