My son got invited to see Wicked

Every year, a group of our high school students gets to go see a major theater production. Last year it was Phantom, the year before that, Pippin. This year they're going to see Wicked. In order to go you must be in a music theory class, or a part of a select chorus which is only offered to those in 10th grade and above. My talented, theater loving son is only a 9th grader, so he is not in the groups that are invited to go see the show.. Which is okay, because last year we bought tickets to see Phantom and we have tickets to see Wicked next weekend. But my son just informed me that he's been invited by his musical director to join them at tonight's show! Someone in the music theory class couldn't make it, so they had an extra ticket. The director offered it to my son as he had done such a wonderful job in the show they held this weekend. I'm Wicked excited for him.. but jealous as well, because I have to wait until next weekend to see the show!

Hubby and I saw it a few years ago, and LOVED it. I can't remember what made us decide to see it.. we had to drive an hour to see it.. maybe just for something to do.. but we loved it!

Sure is, he was really excited, and he gets to hang out with his friends.. which in a teenager's eyes is so much better than going with your family.

@DianneN He convinced me to buy tickets to the other school's Shrek, then found out he couldn't go on the only night I could go.. but he's going to go on another night with some friends, and I'll take my younger boys next Thursday.. should be fun!

How nice is that? And a boost to his self-esteem that he was invited.

LOL, this kid doesn't need a boost to his self esteem, especially after this weekend.. he's got a huge ego and already had so many compliments on his performance! But he had a great time and loved the show.. and gets to see it again this weekend!
