There is this one time when we were walking in the street when we suddenly saw a creature that appears to be a squirrel. It crossed the street from one tree to another through an electric wire. At first we thought it could be just a rat but I believe we can immediately recognize it if it really is a rat. We haven't seen a live squirrel before and not really expecting to see one in Philippines because we only see them mostly in foreign movies. But because of its distinctive tail, we can't really think of any other animal it could be. Only after searching the net that I have confirmed that are also squirrels here known as the Philippine tree squirrels. It looks as the image I have posted with this. Do you already know that we have squirrels here in Philippines and have you seen one in your area before? By the way, we saw it in the City of Taguig.

Squirrels are common in my area. They're wild and I could never be able to get close to one. Even if I do, it would be bad luck to them, as my cats are always near me whenever I walk around the area near my house and they would love to squirrel way too much.

@aeisle no but I would love to see one. From a far of course, I don't want to see them start fighting my cats after all the shoutings

Oh so you are a cat person. Have you encountered a shouting squirrel already? Kind of like what Anjali mentioned when a cat goes near them.

I didn't know you had squirrels in the Philippines. We don't have them in Australia.

@JudyEv that is how uncommon it is here I guess. I even asked my colleagues and they have no idea that we have squirrels here in Philippines.

Heard that there are also quite a few in Muntinlupa and Makati. Probably got in some packages or boxes that are shipped to the Phils.

we have got this squirrel in India. A couple lives on the roof of my house. I just like them moving throughout my campus. I loved it when i saw it jealously shouting over a cat which was sleeping within the boundary. I was amazed to see its behavior.

That's nice! Its like you have pet squirrel that is not caged. I have no idea about the sound the squirrel make but maybe it just considers the cat as threat?

@aeisle yes.. i have got the free wanderer who likes my courtyard. yeah, may be it found threat. well all i remember is that it kept shouting over unless the cat left.

Why is that wild squirrel inside of a wire cage?
