What I learned in recent days is avoid spending money on interiors. I googled many sites and could learn how can one avoid expenditure on painting the interior walls of a house. I went to a printer and asked him to show some designs from the catalog. I have selected one and asked him to prepare a laminated sheet of 4x10 dimension. The color selected was yellow. I did it on an experimental basis. He handed over the sheet nicely rolling it and charged Rs.150/- I bought a double-sided gum tape. I took my friend's help and affixed the gum tape at appropriate places on the back of the sheet. We lifted the entire sheet to the roof of the room and fixed it without any air gaps to avoid wrinkles. It looked awesome and quite amazing to look at the wall. A new visitor will not think that it is a laminated colored sheet. Another way of saving money on the painting is using fabric wallpaper. This is a very simple technique. Selection of a good fabric having floral design or any peculiar design depending upon one's own taste and choice of color Use Starch of appropriate thickness and roll it over the entire selected place on the wall., Before that, the wall should be cleaned and should be made smooth. If there are any gaps or uneven places they should be rubbed off using a salt paper. After applying the Starch liquid (which actually works as a Glu) take the cloth to the roof of the wall and take it a little bit higher than the actual height of the wall. This excess can be cut off afterward taking care of the perfection of the sticky position of the fabric. Here the roller works effectively. Use it as liberally as possible to apply the glue evenly on the wall. Leave this for an hour or two. Cut the excess fabric using a knife or sharp cutter that gives fine edges to the fabric. That's all.

Have you found this is cheaper than paint?

@MALUSE Haha. I've always believed paint is the cheapest way to go but maybe I'm wrong. I remember once I was wrong - but it was a long time ago.

Interesting tips I have never thought about. I think it is always good to have many options so you can see what is best for you.

I have not given a thought to this because we painted the apartment before moving in, and since then, we have not thought of painting it. The paint does not peel or anything, so there is no need to repaint.
