I wonder why it is that an ambulance, a fire truck, and at least three police squad cars are called to a house that is catty-corner from me? Since the beginning of the year, I have seen them over there at least once every two weeks or so. Maybe a bit less.

Likely someone called 911 in some level of extreme distress. If it's a psych issue, the cops come to ensure no one gets hurt. The fire truck is staffed by trained EMTs and is apt to arrive first due to many stations being closer than an ambulance base. Also, domestic violence calls can entail all three. It varies on the situation.

Good information about the reasons the different departments are there. Thanks.

This is the kind of town where you don't ask around unless you know the people and I don't know the people. Nor do I think I would want to know.

@bluerubymoon53 I see, I live in a village and I know that it is safe to ask to any of my neighbors.

they might be elderly..calls can be frequent.
here a lot of times the fire marshall atomatically comes with an ambulance if 911 is called,i've never seen cops tho unless it's a police matter.
