Eat, Sleep and Run: What the ...?

The family had a visitor for a couple of days. It was my cousin who came from a province. Since it is a relative, we welcomed him with open arms. Basically, we accommodate him so well. He had his free meal and a place to sleep. The bizarre thing is he didn't say goodbye when he left yesterday. The family is so upset and felt disrespected. I am not sure if we are going to accept him next time. What an attitude? Image Credit: pixabay.com

Have you checked anything missing with your belongings?

@wiLLmaH Luckily, he never tried to go private rooms in the house. We let him stay in the guest house at the backyard area.

Right word. A small thank you or just one 'bye' seems will suffice. Very ungrateful!

He is so ungrateful. We trusted him and accommodate and this is what he repays us.

@wiLLmaH I felt dismayed with this cousin of ours. Come to think of it, he is also a professional person.

My older daughter's boyfriend came with her last October for the younger daughter's wedding and we checked him in at the hotel but treated him at home with meals several times. When it was time for them to go home, he gave us a card expressing thanks for our hospitality and also gave us a little token gift.

That's an ideal thing to do. But this cousin of mine possesses an animalistic behavior.

@sunrisefan Well, this cousin of ours cannot have an access to our private rooms. We let him stayed in the guest house. I am sure he will not do it. He is an immediate cousin. We are in concern of being disrespectful for not saying goodbye.

@Shavkat That's sad and unfortunate indeed for you and your family. I remember the time when Ms. Erly was such a hospital host that she even allowed her friend to sleep in her own room, only to find out the following day that her friend ran away with her P200K cash.

It might be that he forgot, or he was so happy with your hospitality he thought formality is no required. That could be.

I think it is always in Filipino culture. They need to show gratitude. I guess he lost this manner.

That's quite strange. If he had some emergency, at least he should leave a message to you. It is very disturbing that he just disappeared suddenly. You might feel what's wrong with it and you might also feel worried about him because you don't know where he is. Perhaps he is too young to know some basic manners.

He is a grown up man. We don't need to worry about him. The only issue that comes to our mind is the strong word disrespectful.

He did. But the people who had accepted him, he never dares to say a simple gesture.

That is dreadful! I'd be thinking twice about having him again too. What was he thinking to leave without saying good bye? Is it custom that he would write or ring to say thank you?

In fact, we were not close to him. He had been staying too far from our place. It was a sudden showing up that he is here. We never thought he will do this. I think he can have a cold treatment next time. She disrespected my mom. It is fine not to say goodbye to me. At least, he can just say goodbye to my mom.
