Limiting contact with know it all friends

Picture by Pixabay. I can't always abide with people who act like they know it all, whether they know what they are talking about or not. I have had to limit my contact with people who do that to me. There is one person I have distanced myself from that I forgot her phone number. I wanted to call her today and went to ring her and I no longer remembered her number and it's a private number. I used to talk to her several times a month but now it's been over 3 months since I talked to her. She is the one I made a discussion about last year that yelled at me for having a vocal seizure. When I got to where I was at myself I decided that she was rather toxic in my life. I forgave her but I distanced myself from her. She never calls me. I always did the calling and she always put me down. I think I did the right thing.

You shouldn't keep in touch with someone who is always putting you down.

I feel that way too but I feel guilty at times because she was a mama friend. I called her mama. My daughter gets mad and says she isn't my mother and stop saying it. I don't take any love away from my mother.

I don't care for know it all types either. The less the better. ALl the easier to get her out of your life if she never calls you. I think you did the right thing too.

@OreoBrownie ......Some people don't deserve good friends. She seems to be one of those.

Sounds to me that your life is better without her. And since you haven't heard back from her in all this time, it's obvious she doesn't miss you. You're better off making some new friends!

Yes you did the right thing, but again what makes you call her today? If you want to share the reason, you can always. And someone who seems to be toxic in you life its better to avoid such persons, and it is good that you forgot her number, why feel bad about it?

I think this person doesn't want to be connected to you. I am sorry that's what it described by you. You don't need to cling to her, my friend.
