Hey friends, its "Yugadi" the new year festival in India. This is a festival of lunar new year from the lunisolar calendar of the Hindu. It is usually celebrated in the month of March or April. This is a seasonal festival. It is the first day of the year for us. It is the beginning of spring season and is celebrated colorfully and brightly.
The word Yugadi means yuga-age and adi-beginning. It is celebrated in many parts of the country with different regional names.
We wear new clothes, decorate the house with mango leaves at the door. It is an auspicious day on which we eat neem leaf and jaggery together. I means the sweet and sour in life has to be balanced.
Since festival, it is also the day we make different dishes to eat. From sweet flat breads to curries, and variety of delights to our tongue.
Well this year its on March 29th that is tomorrow we will be celebrating this day. Today is the last day of the year according to the hindu calendar. I wish that next year will bring more sweet than sour in life. Happy Yugadi.
