It smells like a meat market/fish tank in here

Not quite, but it does smell like seafood. This morning we took a ride to a town over an hour away. Our goal was Mother Earth Meats where we have shopped a few times over the last two years. There meat is amazing and as I've said many times the meats they sell in the local grocery stores are mostly un-chewable. I don't want to buy steak that winds up in the trash. I rather pay a few dollars more and get decent meat.
We loaded up on NY Strip Steak and a few Rib Eyes. They trim the meat and vacuum seal it. That saves us time and vacuum sealer bags! Then off to the Shrimp Dock where we got 7 pounds of shrimp. They are delivered daily from Georgia. No matter how fresh shrimp are they do have an slight odor! My husband divided them into one pound packs and they are now vacuum sealed and in the freezer. I also got a few crawfish pies for my husband...he loves them.
The dinner menu for tonight is an easy choice - Rib Eye. I also picked up a few years of corn and a nice loaf of Italian bread at the Kroger in Maryville. I'm making myself hungry.
What's for dinner at your house?
Photo is mine.

I guess you have a real bagel shop near you? Oh how I wish we had one. We would have to drive 1 1/2 hours to buy a real NY style bagel.

Their meat looks amazing too. I can't recall the last time I had a rib eye. My favorite cut. Mmm. shrimp. Would love some shrimp Creole. You don't want to know what we will probably have for dinner tonight. Enjoy your meat stock.

We split a steak so that meat will last 10 meals and spread them out over a few months. The shrimp we usually have once a week. We really like shrimp teriyaki. We got a prime rib for Easter that's in the freezer....so that is one of our favs too.

Wow, you guys really went to town with the meat/seafood shopping! I know what you mean . . . spending a few dollars more on quality meats really do make a difference. Dinner tonight for us will be some wild sockeye salmon and I'll have to think about what to go with it!

Poor dog! Ohhh, you just reminded me that I do have a bag of small sweet potatoes . . . will do something with that to go with the salmon . . . so thank you
! Yah, I know I can get cheaper meats at cheaper stores . . . but there's something about it I don't trust. My Hubby says the same about the chew factor.

Salmon sounds good with baked sweet potatoes - that would be my choice. If I spend 22 of more on a steak I can't chew but can spend 25 on one I can chew - it's obvious which to buy. Of course the dog is upset since she won't be getting some of it.

And we share a steak, so those ten are really 10 meals. We have pasta at least once a week. Enjoy yours.

We luckily have pretty great meats at our grocery store. It's a Winn Dixie and while it is about twenty miles away they do have a great selection of meats. Better than Walmart for sure.
We are having beef stroganoff with potatoes instead of noodles, since I got lazy last night and we had finger foods instead of that, cheesey broccoli and probably some sort of bread.

@AbbyGreenhill I don't eat it too often just on special occasions when out of town. They have better duck than my area.

I can't eat duck, way too greasy for my tummy. My husband loves it.

We have ham steaks once in a while, but sometimes we hit one that is so salty it turns us off. I made a turkey meat loaf yesterday and put mashed potatoes in the middle it was good.

There are several inexpensive sealers or the expensive one which does the best job. We've had two over the last 17 years..so the better ones last and work better.

@AbbyGreenhill Yeah I assumed as much, prob cant afford the expensive one atm, but later. First need a second freezer, the one with the fridge isn't big enough to justify it right now
