My Motorbike Don't Work

Underwater motorbike

During my walk this morning, I spent a few seconds trying to work out what this thing was, having a swim in the canal. Finally it dawned on me, a motorbike. Probably a safe bet that it was 'nicked' or maybe an old one without insurance or tax, that someone wanted to get rid of without paying out. On non-school days it is not usual to see and hear youngsters racing these things, so that could be how it ended up here after running out of fuel. I think it has no petrol as there was no pollution around it, in the water. I guess it'll stay there until someone hits it with their boat.

If I saw that I'd be trying to get it out I once got a jet ski out of a lake

I knew someone who lost his skido in a frozen lake. He lost a couple of toes and a finger getting it out. Jetski sounds easier!

@Ronrybs I got it out but as I was sure it was dodgy my mate took it away and swapped it for an rgv250 bike

This might be a silly question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. There isn't some kind of cleaning they do in the canal? Or is it for the most part pretty clean? They dredge the water here, especially the bayous. And find all kinds of weird stuff.

Indeed they do and it was only done last year, so I doubt they'll get back there anytime soon!

Oh yes now that would be not good to hit that in a boat and good you spotted it as well Ron.

What's nicked? Broken? Seems a shame.... but thanks for sharing because there's something you surely don't see everyday!

Nicked means the same as "stolen".

Most canal boats are fairly solid, but there are some thin-skinned motor boat types that would come off worse!
