Bird Calls, Car Alarms and Chainsaws

I live in Florida and our state bird is the mockingbird. The mockingbird has the ability to mimic the songs of other birds. That's cool, but while doing some reading I stumbled on another bird that has the mockingbird beat. I am wondering if any of you have ever heard of the lyrebird. From what I learned from Wikipedia it is from Australia. Maybe some of you MyLotters from Australia have seen this bird or heard this bird. What is awesome about this bird is that it can mimic all sorts of sounds...even car alarms, camera shutters and chainsaws. I am including a youtube link so that you can take a listen if you wish.

We saw this clip last night too! I know about them but we don't have them in our state. The other thing they like is to pick up shiny, pretty bits and pieces to decorate their nests. They are certainly great mimics aren't they?

I didn't know that they like pretty shiny objects. They are a pretty great bird. I never knew there was a bird that could mimic so than different sounds.

I think that is why it is called a mockingbird.
