Well now that it's April, we are fast approaching Easter. The holiday was a big deal when I was growing up and while I will probably throw together a basket or two for a couple people- we don't do a big thing with the holiday anymore. I may cook a ham and some deviled eggs, and a cake. However it will not be the grand all out affair that it was when I was younger. What about y'all? Do you have plans for the holiday? Traditions?

Growing up all my mom did for us was hide eggs downstairs before we woke up and made baskets, plus made smoked shoulder with potatoes for dinner. We never got dressy, or had anyone over, or had tons of food.. people go all out for holidays these days then complain later.

My children usually have other plans for Easter dinner so my fiance and I will have an Easter Dinner alone. I will do up baskets for my grandchildren and drop them off to them but other then that is is a pretty small affair.

@thislittlepennyearns Yes we will. We will have a ham with all the fixings and then have lots of leftovers.

We will be getting home from Mexico very early that morning. I think we land at midnight and then we have to clear customs and drive the hour home from the airport, etc. I'm not cooking. My sister is and invited us to join them. Not sure if we are going to. It will be a last minute decision. I told her not to do anything special on our account because we may or may not be there. Depends on how we feel that day.

Easter only meant something when it meant spring break when I was a student.
