Part 2 of My Challenge on "Thought Starters"

The 2nd “thought starter” was: “When I was a child, I knew this person who…” So here is what I thought of to meet the challenge. It’s definitely a TRUE story. All you have to do to meet the challenge is to complete the sentence and tell your own story. The first “thought starter” was “Isn’t it a shame that…” I wrote that article last week. Did you read it? Give it a try and accept the challenge. It gives you something to write about. So, here is my story. When I was a child, in the 1950s, I knew this person who had polio. It was called “infantile paralysis.” He was badly crippled but managed to walk in spite of the fact that his legs were twisted. His name was Paul and I remember how sad I felt for him. He would stop by our house sometimes and talk to us. Recently, I have been watching the series on TV entitled “Call the Midwife” and it covered that era in England where polio was a threat and then how the vaccine was introduced. The series ended abruptly without finishing the story line. I’m hoping that at some point in time, more episodes will be shown. I was also watching another series entitled “Heartland” and it also ended abruptly without finishing the story. I just found out that the NEW season of “Heartland” is now available on Netflix, so I will be watching the next 20 episodes which are now available. Do any of you watch either of these series?

Yes, "Call the Midwife" is a realistic depiction of life in England from the 1940s on. The episodes cover so many different aspects of what was going on through the years and the characters are so interesting. The actors are all very good, I think. I have enjoyed the series immensely, but I hope that it comes back on and finishes up the story.

I am a huge Heartland fan and the new season (#10 which just ended in Canada) begins later this month on Up TV.

Yes, I hope to start watching it again tonight. I have already watched 120 episodes and now there will be 20 more episodes. I am wondering if it's going to end after that???

@JohnRoberts I can see why. It's a very interesting story line with so many different characters. My interest, of course, is mainly about the horses and how they are trained, since my novel that I published last year includes a lot about training race horses.

@IreneVincent I haven't read if Heartland has been renewed but it is the most popular and highest rated drama series in Canadian history.
