Still no Baby

Years ago, I knew a young woman who was expecting her first child. She kept getting bigger and looked pregnant. We even gave her a baby shower.
Over time, we kept asking when the baby would be born. Time passed and we were mystified. There was no baby. She did not give birth, lose it, or sweep it from her life. It just never happened.
Now, we are watching a pregnant giraffe named April. She was due in February, any minute now. February droned into March and March walked out leaving her pregnant in April.
Everyone was sure she would deliver on April 1, April Fools Day. That did not happen. People thought it would be cool if it was born April 2. Not happening and today is the 4th and still no birth.
The saga will be continued. What do you think happened to the baby? What will happen to April's baby? I would love to hear your theories on either baby.

I think I can explain the woman you were talking about, Jo Ann..... maybe?
"False pregnancy, phantom pregnancy, or hysterical pregnancy— officially called pseudocyesis in humans and pseudopregnancy in other mammals—is the appearance of clinical or subclinical signs and symptoms associated with pregnancy when the organism is not actually pregnant." Courtesy of Wikipedia.
Believe it or not, even men can show signs of pregnancy! It is called 'couvade syndrome'.
