Gracie, Spunky and Sophie. The bonded trio.

This morning I woke up thinking about Gracie, she's the beautiful golden retriever at the top, she was small for a GR at only 50 lbs. The girl she's laying on is Sophie, her parents were brother and sister and were a doberman mix. She weighed about 65 lbs here. She's cozied up to Spunky, I think he was a maine coon as he weighed at least 21 lbs in this picture. These three were BFFs and each lived a pretty long life, Spunky lived 17 years, I lost him in 2007. I took this picture about 1996 when Sophie, the youngest, was 18 months old. I miss these guys so much even though I have a wonderful duet it's just not the same. Do you have pets you miss even though you have pets today?

Yes I do. I miss Marshall who passed away last fall. I also miss my brother's dog Nemo who passed away last month. I do miss my childhood dog Buddy from eons ago. Great photo!

The grief can be overwhelming sometimes. I recently read something on FB that said that people live long because they have to learn how to love whereas dogs are born knowing how from the beginning. It didn't make me feel any better for the loss of my past furbabies but at least it make a tiny bit of sense.

All three are beautiful. I miss all my pets and wish I had them all back with me. I had some wonderful dogs. My last was a small lab mix named Mabel. Mildred is my first cat. I don't think we ever forget our pets.

Thank you. I miss them all too, but at least I can share a little about them once in a while, I just have to make sure I'm not in a sappy mood cuz then I have trouble keying twixt the tears. Mildred is a beauty. My first pet was a beautiful Siamese\burmese\allycat mix, her momma got loose and played around.
