The Rebel In Me

In a lot of ways, I am a rebel.
I would be silent, if my husband pointed out a wrong thing to me. I would change it to the best of my ability , but retain what I think is right to me.
Last week, our batch’s dance group , decided to have another pictorial for our group, which is this afternoon, before our dance practice.
When they asked at FB chatroom what will be the color of the shirt this time, I suggested that it be black and maong (blue denim). They all agreed on that.
Now, someone asked what about the shoes?
I was irked, because why would there be still be a color for the shoes, when everyone can just wear their rubber shoes with no specific color, like before.
What if they don’t have that color for the rubber shoes? But I didn’t comment instead.
I also felt like blurting out, “this is why some of our batchmates don’t like joining because there are a lot of requirements. “ Some of my batch mates are poor.
They also want to join. However, one told me that it’s those requirements such as that that deters them from joining.
But I instead, I didn’t comment and let them decide. It’s red rubber shoes!
Well, in short , I borrowed a red rubber-like shoes from Auntie. Just they don’t comment when they see me in that, or I will tell them that I will quit already.
It’s just a pictorial , why be fuzzy about it anyway?
Good thing, myLot is here where I can vent this out.
It’s a sunny day over here, I hope everyone is feeling good today.

I maybe tough but I am actually a softie inside. I always would like to defend other people who doesn't have the voice, especially my officemates.
This time, I feel like speaking up for those poor batch mates.

Yes, anything which would suit the outfit could be worn as footwear.
Nice to hear that when your husband points out any mistake, you try to improve upon, instead of arguing with him. He is a lucky man.

@SIMPLYD You meant to say that even if you listen, ultimately you do, whatever you feel like. Is not it?
All the best for your practice session.

The ones enforcing those kinds of rules are the ones with means and money, they are acting like our government

Yes, they are the moneyed one. Though, they listen to me when the rebel in me would really rebel.
The other time, when we had a pictorial , a picture of which I posted, I told them I can't be in my rubber shoes nor bring one because I will be coming from the office. Then, I said i better quit and one readily brought her other rubber shoes for me to wear.

@SIMPLYD that is the problem with reunions, some batchmates are better off than others, maybe they should be more considerate, the rebel is always the equalizer

This would be hard if they are always last minute deciding the best that need done and not taking into everyone else's thoughts as well

That is true. It's as if, if you don't have red shoes, you should do something about it - borrow or buy. What ?!

@computerguy1980 That would be too inappropriate here because the weather is hot.

well, we have the same attitude, my lady. i cannot stand people who push requirements for the goal of uniformity. and yes, sometimes i use a different color because i am rebellious and mischievous as well.
surprisingly, some of my colleagues listen to me more than the ones in authority in school, so we part-time clinical instructors, defy the uniform required by the school... 'pasaway'

@ridingbet Not actually, but I just want to have my own fashion statement. I am happy when others would follow. Maybe they would reason out, if Tita D can , why can't we? ha ha ha
Actually, having a short hair can make one really younger looking. So, you can observe that most of the old people have short hair. It makes them look younger.
If you observe a young girl having long hair looks older than her true age is. Try having her hair cut short and you will see the big difference- she looks younger and carefree.
So, that's why they followed you because they see that you looked younger with a short hair.

@SIMPLYD hahaha!indeed you are a trend setter my lady. and we, 'seasoned ladies', are not afraid to challenge our style, and at times, even those younger than us follow us.
when i had my hair cut short, 2 of the staff nurses in medical ward cut their hair the same short cut like mine. i asked them if they did not like their long hair since summer was coming so soon, and the young staff nurse said, "ma'am, i was so inspired with your short hair so i cut it". the other nurse also said, " i want to look younger too, ma'am that is why i cut it short like you".

@SIMPLYD i couldn't agree more, my lady, and yes, even if we are in our 'seasoned' years, we can still set a trend.

Very true and very well said. For the sake of camaraderie, everyone's feeling and suggestions should be considered or asked. Besides, we are like one family, so if one doesn't have it , but they like everyone to have it for the sake of uniformity, they should lend the extra ones they have.
Well actually, one did that to me the other time. She brought her extra rubber shoes , since I told them I am coming from the office and i don't want bringing rubber shoes to the office then to there which could be bulky.

@SIMPLYD Maybe you should wear a fatigue uniform during your class picture and reunion hahaha! That should really give justice to your name and character :) Then, tie a red band around your head and forehead hehehe!

Actually, this situation cannot be avoided. Some rich ones would usually be imposing. Though it's good that the rich ones in our batch would always donate. At least they share their blessings. But it doesn't mean that they should always be followed as to what should be in events.

Shh! Bato might hear you and let me captured.
