Random Facts About U.S.States

United States
April 6, 2017 9:16am CST
Each U.S. state has its own history and unique facts. Here are a few that I came across recently. Do you live in any of these states and do you know more facts about your state that would be interesting to the rest of us? West Virginia: The Grave Creek Mound in Moundsville, WV is the largest conical-type prehistoric mound in the U.S. For more information, here’s a link. Wyoming: Nellie Taylor Ross, was the first woman governor in the U.S. She was elected in 1925. Washington: Explorers, Lewis and Clark reached the coastline of Washington in 1805. Vermont: The first state to be admitted to the Union, following the original 13 colonies. Utah: In 1848, great flocks of sea gulls ate the crickets that were destroying crops. The Sea Gull Monument here honors the gull. These are just a few. I will list more later.

That's a good point. Some Americans don't know the history of each Estates. This is a good learning. Same here in our country. People don't pay attention to facts about Cities and Provinces.

@dhoyalahoy Have you personally visited any of these places? You should post something about each place. I would definitely be interested in reading about these places and I'm sure others on myLot would also. Just post a few facts about each place in separate posts. It will give you quite a lot to write about and I'm sure that others would be interested in reading your posts.
